About TextileWaVE IC&DT Project
TextileWaVE is an initiative that joins scientists, stakeholders from the textile industry (designers and manufacturers) and waste managers with the purpose of implementing the organic valorisation of cellulose-based textile waste, outlined and promoted by eco-design principles.
AIMS
Assess the feasibility of organic valorisation of cellulosic textile waste through the composting process, preserving both the quality and safety of the compost.
Isolate, identify, and characterise cellulolytic microorganisms originated from composting conditions as prospective composting accelerators.
Optimise microbial formulations for textile waste composting acceleration through bioaugmentation.
Foster the progress of Ecodesign in the textile clothing industry through the development of a compostability score.
