Microbiotec'25

As part of the dissemination and scientific outreach activities of the TextileWaVE I&D project, members of the research team participated in Microbiotec'25, held at the University of the Azores, from 4 to 6 December 2025. 

During the conference, the team presented the poster 'Uncovering Microbial Drivers of Cellulosic Textile Degradation in Composting Environments' showcasing recent advances in understanding the microbial communities and enzymatic mechanisms involved in the biodegradation of cellulosic textile waste under composting conditions. 

These findings support TextileWaVE's broader mission of promoting circular and bio-based solutions for textile waste valorisation. Participation in Microbiotec'25 provided an excellent opportunity to share results with the scientific community, strengthen collaboration networks in microbiology and biotechnology, and reinforce the project's visibility within the national and international R&D ecosystem.
